The Advocate

My advocating has taken me places that I was oblivious to. One of my greatest resources was graduating from the 1990 Partners in Policy Making, where I not only met wonderful people, but learned about getting legislation passed and ways of operating in the system to get things done. 

 

After having a son with Down Syndrome, my advocating took on a new dimension. I became active in that community, but also applied everything to my job, leading a transportation operation.

 

To advocate, you must open your eyes and ears and have the COURAGE to act.
